Dear Friends of the Private Equity Program:
Before summer takes off in full swing and brings with it a respite (hopefully) from a busy first half of the year for all of us, I wanted to take this opportunity to provide you with some highlights of the Program's past activities and future plans since our January newsletter. Professor Margaret Cannella, Greta Larson and I hope reading the newsletter will inspire you to reach out to the Program with some of your own ideas on how we, working together, can continue to build the network of friends of the Private Equity Program of Columbia Business School.

Fellows Program Update from Margaret Cannella `76, Administrative Director of the Private Equity Program
The Private Equity Fellows Program has completed its first year as a pilot with 41 MBA and EMBA candidates participating as Fellows.
- Each participant was assigned an alumni mentor
- A series of "After Hours" lectures facilitated by top firms in the industry were held exposing students to various facets of the industry
- Several practice interview sessions were held to replicate case interviews at private equity firms
- Fellows participated in writing a case on Burger King, and visiting 3G in Miami with the case to be published by Columbia Caseworks
The Private Equity Fellows Program has supported individual students in their career preparation and will continue to help further the work of the Private Equity Program at large by helping create a community of Columbia Business School alumni helping each other prosper across the landscape of this exciting and challenging industry.

Annual Dinner 2014
The Private Equity Program was proud to sponsor a table at Columbia Business School's 38th Annual Dinner held at the Waldorf Astoria on May 5. The Annual Dinner brings together alumni, friends, corporate sponsors, and guests in an evening of support for Columbia Business School.
The Program hosted the winners of the Deal Camp Competition along with our Advisory Board and other friends. This year's event raised $3.2 million for financial aid, faculty research, and entrepreneurial outreach. Read more
On March 21 many of the top global private equity firms joined us for a presentation by Donna M. Hitscherich on her latest research on generational differences (see our article about the Program's research) and a presentation by Margaret Cannella on the Private Equity Fellows Program.
