Fall 2019
Columbia Business School Private Equity Program

Message from Donna M. Hitscherich ’90, Senior Lecturer in the Discipline of Business Finance and Economics and Director of the Private Equity Program

Dear Friends of the Private Equity Program:

We at the Private Equity Program hope you had a wonderful summer and are enjoying the fall. We had a productive summer and fall and wanted to share some highlights with you.

Our Private Equity Fellows Class of 2018 is working hard on weekly case study sessions and on job searches. We wish to extend our gratitude to our alumni mentors, our  guest speakers and case presenters, all of whom generously give their time to assist our Fellows in becoming the next generation of leaders in the private equity industry.

We extend a warm welcome to our newest Advisory Board member, Charles Buaron ’14, TPG Growth. Charles has been an asset to the Private Equity Program serving as a guest lecturer in class, at Deal Camp, and with the PE Fellows Program. We are delighted that he has joined us in this formal way.

Finally, we welcome our newest sponsor, Rubenstein. The firm has joined as a Deal Camp sponsor, and we are delighted to partner with them.

We hope you enjoy this edition of the newsletter and invite your attention to the following:

• We are again partnering with Executive Education to open Deal Camp for a limited number of professionals to attend. Contact Greta Larson (gl2304@columbia.edu) for more information. Please also review our Deal Camp video.

• All are invited, Gen Xers in particular: please join our research survey on technology and other societal influences on the various generations in today’s workforce. This research is sponsored by SAP Americas. We look forward to sharing findings with you. Access the surveys here.

Greta and I thank all of you who have reached out to us as we strive to fulfill the Program’s mission to bring together financial theory and practice in the private equity industry.

Kind regards,

Donna M. Hitscherich
